Hello, and welcome to my newest blog. Newt Gingrich is a historic figure in American politics. As Speaker of the House, he led the effort to reduce capital gains taxes, balance the federal budget, reform welfare, enact tort reform, and pass tough anti-crime legislation. In the 2012 election, Newt Gingrich is proposing bold solutions to fix the economy, protect our country, and promote constitutional values to our government and courts. Newt Gingrich has spent time in legislative office, as House Minority Leader, as House Speaker, in the private sector, as a teacher, as a historian, and as an author. He has been in public life for the past 32 years, and has been especially noticeable since he brought the GOP to victory in 1994. As a result, Speaker Gingrich has been dishonestly portrayed by the press and some within conservatism. This blog is supposed to work as a defense for Newt Gingrich as he seeks the presidency of the United States. Lies, distortions, and mischaracterizations have been told about Speaker Gingrich and both his public and private life for some time, and this blog will serve as a place to set the record straight.
